thank you, bob, for that introduction and thank you all of you for coming out early this morning for what i think will be a lively debate. we are going to be asking the question if democracy is to triumph in the middle east, victories at the ballot box are unavoidable and essential. this is the motion we will be debating in the intelligence- squared format per requests from our panelists who have done this once already -- they have had a practice round. they have not had a chance of doing this, but i suspect, had probably had several scotches and talked about ways to defeat their foes. we know that this is a time of revolution in the middle east. it started with a fruit sell seller in tunisia and toppled a 230-year dictator that spread to egypt and the egyptian revolution was concern to the united states. egypt has long held incredible importance to u.s. policy in the middle east. the u.s. reaction to that revolution was unclear. there were some that said this was a good thing that this would only lead to democracy. there were others who insisted that mubarak was not a dictator, whic

pleasure to see bob again after a couple of years. i have as alex addressed the longstanding critic of fannie and freddie. i don't come from the right side of the political spectrum. i tend to be left the. i wasn't sure if i would get through the door without an alarm going off. but managed to get up here. my first job out of graduate school was working for fdic. one of my responsibility was to monitor the activities of fannie and freddie and on a quarterly basis i made a pilgrimage to d.c. to visit the executives at fannie and freddie. my responsibility was to monitor their programs, their people, i did that for 11 years and on a weekly basis i included a portion on fannie and freddie because they were key determinants of the activity that was going on in the mortgage market. it gave me an opportunity after i started this in the 70s to really watch the history and follow the evolution of fannie and freddie and i didn't really become concerned about any of this until after 1992 and the reason i did was really threefold. i had noticed

good to see you, bob. when we talked last night, what you said was we were missing a critical piece of information, which is where is the clot, and it's in the vein situated in the space between the brain and the skull behind the right ear. what can you tell us? >> this is a vein that drains blood from the brain into the central circulation system. the danger with it, because it's so close to the brain, is that if the clot were to grow, it could go inside the brain and become a stroke. that didn't happen according to the doctors. it's appropriate to treat this kind of clot with anti-coagulant therapy. one of the things everybody was talking about before was usually when somebody has a concussion, they get a blood clot called a subdural hematoma and that cannot be treated with that therapy because it presents certain dangers. because this is in a vein outside the brain it can be treated. it's a fairly rare complication with concussions, but it is a possibility. >> obviously, the big concern, that would have
